PRESCOTT CHORALE SEASON SERIES 2018-2019: Three Concerts presenting the finest in choral music. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2:30pm    -    MAGNIFICENT! - AN ALL BACH CONCERT SATURDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2:30 & 7:30pm   -  GLAD TIDINGS WE BRING SATURDAY, APRIL 27, 2:30pm  -  THE FRENCH CONNECTION: FROM PARIS TO PRESCOTT All concerts will take place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2000 Shepherds Lane, Prescott.   Please note the NEW 2:30pm Start Time! Prescott Chorale, under the baton of Artistic Director Dennis Houser, is proud to announce its 2018-19 season of concerts. October 6 - MAGNIFICENT! - AN ALL BACH CONCERT  Prescott Chorale will perform J.S. Bach's Magnificat in d with soloists and a full Baroque orchestra with harpsichord. Also on the program is Ich lasse dich nicht, du segnest mich denn BWV Anh.159, one of his most famous motets for double chorus. The afternoon will feature the new Arizona Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Bach's Brandenberg Concerto #1, noted for its celebratory style and dance-like movements. December 15 - GLAD TIDINGS WE BRING - TWO PROGRAMS!    Celebrate the season with family and friends. Two concerts - two programs. Children and the young at heart will enjoy the 2:30pm afternoon's selection of contemporary and traditional holiday music. Join the Carol Singing at 2:00 PM. Once again it is the Chorale's pleasure to feature its holiday children’s choir, joined this year by another choir of children and youth for a very special program. Come in the evening at 7:30pm to hear Francis Poulenc’s Gloria for soprano soloist, full chorus and Orchestra. Rounding out the evening will be works from current and local composers, as well as a wide selection of works from the Renaissance music trove for Christmas. April 27 -THE FRENCH CONNECTION: FROM PARIS TO PRESCOTT  Experience the Impressionism, the Passion, the Brilliance of French composers! HOBBIT DAY 5K & 10K – THE JOURNEY TO MIDDLE EARTH -This is a virtual race! Did you know that September 22 is Hobbit Day?  It’s the birthday of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins!  We are celebrating with our third annual Hobbit Day 5K & 10K – Journey to Middle Earth!  September is also Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness Month, so  we will be donating at least 15% of every registration to Be The Match, “for the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists. Over the past 25 years Be The Match ® , operated by the National Marrow Donor Program ®  (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. We work every day to save lives through transplant.” *For a limited time get an official t-shirt and/or hoodie HERE! What: This is a 5K or 10K virtual run (or walk) to honor hobbits! When: Complete your race any time in September. If you can complete it on Hobbit Day, September 22nd, even better!  *Medals and bibs will start shipping out mid-August. Then the will ship out every 2 to 5 days after that. Where:  You choose the course and you time yourself (you’ll report your finishing time to us). Why:  Because this is our way of celebrating Hobbit Day and to help raise funds for an amazing organization:  Be The Match. Cost:  The price is $18 and that includes your medal, bib and shipping.
