Armed with good information, people are better able to make good decisions and, by doing so; contribute to the overall response goal of saving lives and protecting property. Personnel tasked with gathering, verifying, coordinating, and disseminating public information at the federal, state, tribal, local, and territorial levels bear this considerable responsibility concurrently with other job assignments. These Public Information Officers (PIOs) must be provided with the opportunity to learn and practice the skills they will use on the job. This courseis designed for PIOs with experience in the field who will be working in a JIS/JIC. This is the third course in the Public Information Training Series. This course is delivered at the state, local, tribal, and territorial governments. Other courses are conducted as resident courses at the Emergency Management Institute (EMI). The courses build on each other enhancing students? skills further at each level. This course uses Blooms Taxonomy as a guide to focus the course material to augment the knowledge and comprehension for new PIOs This course will outline the communications needed for different incidents and define the roles of the PIO within ICS. Selection Criteria: The primary audience for this training is individuals who have public information responsibilities as their main job or as an auxiliary function at the federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial level of government, and in the private and nongovernmental sectors. Strong Tower 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2    Proverbs 18:10 -  The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.   Welcome to the Bible Race Series! This is a series of virtual races devoted to scriptures from the Bible.  Join us as we spread the good word around the world! Baby Steps and Baby Wings 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 *This is a virtual race! Did you know that Baby Day is on May 2nd, 2019? As the name suggests, it celebrates babies! What an amazing day to celebrate! We love babies!  Baby feet, baby toes, baby fingers, baby smiles and baby giggles. There’s nothing better than a baby! While it’s a day of celebration for some, it is also a day of heartbreak, grieving and loss for others. We know that many people have struggled and continue to struggle with infertility, miscarriages, sick children and sweet babies that go back to heaven much too soon.    To make Baby Day special for everyone, we want to invite you to join our first annual Baby Steps and Baby Wings 1 Mile 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2 to honor all babies, both on earth and in heaven. Each participant will be given a beautiful medal, the white wings on the medal are made of beautiful white stained glass.  Along with honoring babies, we will also be donating at least 15% of every registration to Baby Quest Foundation, which  provides financial assistance through fertility grants to those who cannot afford the high costs of procedures such as IVF (in vitro fertilization). Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 through this race!
