An annual tradition, this youthful and graceful company enthralls audiences with a range of acrobatic performances, most of them typifying Chinese circus and offering a refreshing alternative to the Western tradition with acts that often trace their origin to the harvest festivals of more than 2,000 years ago. Under the direction of Zhao Lizhi, the artistry, individually and collectively, attains levels that make it seem almost unfair to single out any act, from jugglers to the comic knife throwers and the bicyclist who finishes by piling about 10 of his colleagues aboard his vehicle. It is always destined to be a memorable evening! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Fall Festival of Wine, hosted by the Hinsdale Wine Shop, this is a wonderful opportunity to try wines from all over the world, and be able to purchase the wine for your collection. 26th Annual Fine Arts Festival Sponsored by the San Joaquin Potters Guild Friday, November 22, 2019 - 4-8 pm Saturday, November 23, 2019 - 10 am - 4pm Spanos Community Center at St. Basil’s Greek Church 920 W. March Lane, Stockton, CA Celebrating its 26th year, the prestigious 2019 Fine Arts Festival will hosts a free two‐day event on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday. The festival boasts juried artists from Northern California who are widely acclaimed and some internationally recognized. Visitors will see handcrafted clay (functional, sculptural, garden and cooking ware), glass, wood, unique jewelry, wearable art, paper and paintings that make a beautiful addition to any home, garden or wardrobe Friday night attendees will have the opportunity to shop and meet the artists while enjoying Spanish Guitar music by Jesse Hendricks and his live performance on Sat. Nov. 23 from 10 am - 1 pm. New this year is a free kid’s art corner on Friday from 4-8 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm where children can work on some art. The kids art corner is hosted by Hatch Workshop of Stockton a center for emerging members. Saturday morning at 11 am there will be a live demonstration of ceramic flameware by artist, Eric Struck plus more entertaining music. The live raffle proceeds will benefit our Bruce Duke Memorial Student Scholarship and the annual Visions in Clay exhibition at the LH Horton Art Gallery at San Joaquin Delta College.
