I don’t believe in magic. But what I do believe in is the infinite power of positive intent. With positive intent and a clear goal absolutely everything and anything is possible. We each have our own distinct vibration and frequency, and when we make a positive intent we are in effect co-creating with nature. A signal goes out into the world and nature begins to support you by bringing your intent to life.So how do we do this? How do we get into the space where all our dreams are heard? How do we quiet the voice in our head? If we are observing the voice in our head-who is doing the talking? Such big questions. There is a simple way to eradicate “that voice” it takes just 10 days. Once it is gone you are back in charge and you can now truly manifest and realize your dreams. You have to go inside and tap into the well spring of wisdom that resides in you. This is where you get to meet the real you, the wise you, the you that knows that everything is possible.Thank you to everyone who joined Aj & I last month in our introductory conversation: Meditate & Manifest. We were overwhelmed by the interest in this night that we are excited to run this one day Workshop next month. In this workshop we will assist you in determining, and figuring out, what you want in life through a variety of modalities. We will:►Help you set a clear intent► Assist you in defining the subconscious beliefs that are holding you back andshow you how to release them using various techniques► Introduce you to the Energy Psychology modalities► Lead you through a guided meditation► Lead you through a gentle yoga flow You will learn how to:► eradicate “that voice”►get back in charge of your life ►get to know yourself ►feel whole►move through the world with the courage to live your life as you were intended Please sign up in advance as we are keeping this workshop intimate and only accepting a maximum of ten people. "8 New Steps Leading to Liberation and Freedom from Addiction" with Dr Valerie Mason John - VIMALASARA Eight Step Recovery is a buddhist approach for working with addiction and obsessive thinking. These eight steps can be used by people who have not responded to the twelve-step approach, as well as by those who are in twelve-step recovery. They are steps that can free us from the prison of our minds, while also a practical guide of how to break the vicious cycle of addiction and habitual behaviours. ABOUT VIMALASARA Valerie (Vimalasara) Mason-John is an inspirational public speaker and master trainer in the field of conflict transformation, leadership and mindfulness. She is the award winning author of 8 books, and is the co-founder of Eight Step Recovery – Using The Buddha’s Teaching to Overcome Addiction, an alternative to the 12 steps programs for addiction. Since the publication of the book by Windhorse Publications in 2013, it has won the Best USA Book awards 2014 and Best International book Award 2015 in the self motivational and self help category. Eight Step Meetings are now taking place in the UK, USA, Canada, Mexico, India and Finland. She also is the co-creator of Mindfulness Based Addiction Recovery (MBAR). Valerie is one of the leading African Descent voices in the field of Mindfulness and Addiction, and trains professionals to working in the field of  addiction all over the world. “From the age of 11 I was often told I should write a book. I didn’t know why people suggested this. By the time I became an adult, people would say, how did you survive? What was it that helped you pull through? Five years ago I made a commitment to dedicate my life to be of service to those who were suffering and or struggling in life. I realized that if I could survive sexual and physical abuse, attempts at taking my life, living on the streets, locked up in children prison all before the age of 16, and not be on any medication, alcohol or illegal drugs today, then I must have something to share. Aged 27, I woke up to the truth. I knew I never wanted to suffer again. A stranger tried to strangle me to death, and I was determined this was not going to be one more thing to bring me down.” This incident was a gift. Because in that moment I knew had the courage and the potential to change. And that I did not have to be a victim of my circumstances. It gave me a taste of life, and I knew I did not have live my life in survival mode, I could begin living whole heartedly. Yes, the road was a long hard one, which involved recreational drugs, self loathing behaviour. What was it that changed my life? The Miracle of Mindfulness, the Miracle of Kindfulness, that began to perfume my life aged 28. Website TEDx Talk

with Barrie I'm from Santa Ana, California and grew up going to a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist church in Orange County. I played basketball for 9 years and hated it the entire time.I went to NYU, but stopped going to class and would spend all day walking around the city by myself. So I left and moved home and spent the rest of that semester learning how to play guitar from a person I went to high school with.I play music because forming thoughts into sounds blends emotional and rational thought in a way that turns me on. I met my band on Tinder.

Come for an hour of guided meditation. Honor your mind, body and spirit by allowing yourself to relax, release, and open. Utilizing breath and techniques lifted from yoga nidra, you will be induced into the state between waking and sleep. From there we will explore personal sacred spaces and receive messages or experiences from the space behind our eyes. Use of essential oils and light touch will be included so please notify me if you would prefer to opt out from that portion. Come with an open mind and heart and receiving the healing benefits of guided meditation in a group.$5Linzi Silverman is an intuitive healer and artist living in Brooklyn. She is trained in reiki and shamanic healing and has mentored under a very talented psychic-medium, Robyn Hessinger. Her experience in guided meditation stems from her teachers and mentors, her passion for yoga, readings on ways to access other states, and the evidence of the work of words and rest through her time guiding friends, family, and clients. Time spent in meditation can provide relaxation and restoration, it can allow you to receive messages for guidance, it can provide a new perspective, it can help heal.

Meditation for Inner Peace Come Discover Wholeness The Meditation for Inner Peace is a guided meditation for self-healing and restoration. It’s based on the Divine Spark Method and is more advanced than the Meditation for Beginners class. Taught by master meditation teacher Andy Grice, the overarching focus of the Meditation for Inner Peace is to find your wholeness. By being in a state of wholeness, stress, anxiety, and suffering disappear. As we live our lives, we leave pieces of our energy, our souls, in other places. Whether it was a bad argument, regrets, or fears, your energy can become scattered — which makes you feel scattered. During the Meditation for Inner Peace, you discover how to heal yourself by learning to “call back” this energy. The result is a feeling of restoration and wholeness. Class Format While the themes of wholeness, restoration, and inner peace are always the main themes, the guided meditation and exercises Andy leads the class through are surprising, inspiring and new. Class participants sit on chairs in a circle with their feet on the floor. Andy will introduce the concept for the day often as a short group discussion/sharing, then the participants close their eyes, get comfortable in their chairs, then move through the guided meditation. The meditation is often followed by a group discussion or self-healing exercise. Whether you are new to meditation or a meditation veteran seeking new techniques, the most valuable part of this class is that you’ll discover that you have the tools to bring yourself to a place of wholeness and inner peace whenever you wish. We hope to see you there! Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm We invite you to arrive by 5:45 to settle in before the meditation COST: $10 More information about Divine Spark/Chill Sacramento

Why do we practice, and how can we use our initial intention - our vow - to make every activity in our day spiritually meaningful? This is the question that will begin our immersion in Zen practice. We will learn to pay attention to all aspects of our experience in our daily activities, and see how Zen offers us the opportunity to harmonize body and mind. Rev. Phoebe, a Buddhist nun for nearly 40 years, will offer in-depth instruction in meditation, chanting, and ceremony. She will also provide private spiritual guidance and - weather permitting - meditation on the beach. We will be using Shohaku Okumura's book "Living by Vow" as a foundation for Dharma talks and discussions. Participants are encouraged (though not required) to bring their own copy for study. ABOUT THE TEACHER: Rev. Phoebe van Woerden was born in 1949 in the Netherlands, and moved to Shasta Abbey in 1980, where she was ordained in 1981 by Reverend Master Jiyu-Kennett.  She received Dharma Transmission in 1985 and studied at Shasta Abbey till 1990,  most of the time as one of Rev. M. Jiyu’s personal assistants.  In 1990 she moved to Throssel Hole Abbey in England, where she studied under Reverend Master Daishin Morgan until she was invited to join Reverend Master Jisho Perry at his small temple in Santa Barbara, CA.  In 2000 the Santa Barbara Priory moved to become the Pine Mountain Buddhist Temple, at its current location, and in 2008 Rev. Phoebe became an American citizen.  She is a Zen Master and teacher of Buddhism, and head monk of the Temple, working closely together with Reverend Master Seikai. This retreat is a silent retreat. Advance registration is required for all participants. Attendance is required for the duration of the entire retreat.  Registration to this retreat (or Eventbrite Ticket) does not reserve you a spot.
